ExACT and Windows Updates

a
Windows updates need to be up to date in order for ExACT to work. Should you receive continuous Rebuild Indexes and Connection errors or if you are unable to open ExACT, you may need to check for Windows updates. This is a Windows issue and needs to be resolved. Windows periodically checks for updates. When an update is available, it isn't always automatically downloaded and installed.

To check for updates now, select the Windows Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. Even if Windows Update says your device is up to date, still select the Check for updates button as there may still be an update available for download. Every individual computer in your practice using ExACT needs to have Windows updated.

After the Windows update, all computers need to be shut down. Turn on the server computer first and Rebuild Indexes on the server only. Turn on all the other workstations after rebuilding the indexes on the server successfully. Rebuilding Indexes is only required on the server and not the workstations.

Welcome to your Windows updates
